Delivered new to “Bob Mercer Ford” in Hickman, Nebraska in June 1963.

The Story: Bob Mercer was a Ford dealer from 1962 through 1970. Each year he took one new vehicle from the Ford Motor Company transport and put it up on blocks into “dark storage” as he states. This is where the cars remained until September 1993 when he began selling them individually. All of this information and more is in a signed letter from Bob Mercer.

This magnificent, original 500XL comes with copies of the original M.S.O.,
window sticker, dealer invoice, original owners manual and the original build sheet, which I recently found barely taped to the back of the glove box.

This car was also displayed at the 2025 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) in Chicago where it received two awards including the “Time Capsule” award. The car scored 3387.94 from a possible 3423.33 points. Original in every aspect, from the Ford headlights to the Ford mufflers and everything in between.
